Have I been drawing?

Short answer: No.

Long answer: No, because I've started writing a fanfiction for Miraculous Ladybug. I've been uploading it on Archive of Our Own (or AO3), as I know there's a big Miraculous community over there. I've been uploading a chapter a day for the past 55 days. And I'm still not even done! I've actually written up to chapter 62 currently, and have no end in sight. I'm just going to keep writing as long as the ideas are flowing.

Yes, I'm going to be up-front about it right now: it's a fluff and smut fic. So if you're not into naughty things, you're not going to want to read my story.

Anyway! That's what I've been doing lately. It's taking all my spare time to keep up with writing enough to post chapters every day, though, so I don't know when I'll get back to drawing any time soon. So I hope you all understand. Because this is a big deal for me. Writing is and always has been my main passion, as I want so badly to become a full-fledged author someday. And I've been getting a lot of positive feedback from this fanfiction, so in a way I feel like I'm living my dream.

I'll still be lurking and keeping in touch though, I promise not to vanish completely again like my random hiatus!

 
 
 
Trying to get caught up on all the cool new shows that have blown up on dA that I've missed out on being away. Started with Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir and HOLY CRAP IT'S PERFECT!! It's magical girl and superhero and comedy and romance all in one. All my favorite things! It's cohesive stories each episode too, they make sense. Unlike some shows I've watched ( *cough* Winx Club *cough* ) where the writing seems to be all over the place (don't get me wrong, I do like Winx Club, especially at the beginning. It's just as the years and seasons dragged on, from about season five onward, the writing became really lackluster). You can tell a lot of heart went into the writing of each character and each episode. And as much as I love Marinette/Ladybug, it's Adrien/Cat Noir that's definitely my favorite character. His suave romantic demeanor and hilarious puns get me every time. xD

I am seriously head over heels in love with this show. I know that it's still fairly new but I hope it lasts for many seasons to come! After I've watched all season one's episodes, my next show on the catch-up list is Stephen Universe!

THIS. It's THIS is the brush set I've been searching high and low for. I've seen people like Yuni-Naoki and MamuEmu use it in their gorgeous backgrounds for years and I've been totally in love with it since. And now that I want to actively make more of my backgrounds it was at the top of my list of brush sets to get. At first I couldn't find it, but after searching for a while I found this Deviation. But the download was for a JPG file, not the brushes. It listed two websites as places to get them, but one doesn't exist anymore and the other didn't have them listed. I mean, the brush set is from like 2007 so it's kinda my own fault for being super slow on the uptake.

HOWEVER! I moved my search to Google and found this: designfruit.com/blog/2007/02/1… And though I was surprised they were listed for purchase, not free download, I really wanted them so I clicked the purchase the brush set option $12.99. Great, paid for and downloaded. When I went to use them in Photoshop though, the brushes were all amalgamated together, not in separate pieces. So I was pretty disappointed, let me tell you. Then I went back to page and saw you could purchase the original vectors for $9.99. I was desperate for those hearts and swirls! So I did that too.

I've now paid over $20 for one brush set. I'm insane, I know. But it's the only brush set I'll do that for, I swear! I've just been in love with this one for years, I didn't just want it, I honestly NEEDED it.

That's how I'm justifying it to myself, anyway.

Has anyone else seen today's episode of Sailor Moon Crystal? The new ending song with ChibiUsa is so CUTE!! I'm feeling totally inspired right now. Expect a new ChibiUsa-related picture from me soon.

Speaking of Crystal, I found a new Serenity Journal skin I'm totally in love with!

Oh, also! I totally blame for this. I've become totally obsessed with the game, Sailor Moon Drops! It's for Apple or Andriod, so I ~HIGHLY~ recommend downloading! It's a puzzle game where you make matches to clear levels, kinda like Bejeweled or Candy Crush. But with Sailor Moon! The art in game is super adorable (you get to play as different characters once you unlock them too!), they have great music...it's honestly really fun! Trust me, you'll love it if you like puzzle games like I do! And if you download it, you should add me as a friend! I play a lot so I'm always giving out free lives to everyone on my list. Anyway, that's it for now. I'm one day eight of a stretch of working twelve days in a row. So I'm a little tired right now, but I've been working on some pictures and I'm honestly excited when I'm at work and I'm almost done my shift, that I get to come home and make more art. And I've just been feeling extra optimistic and happy lately. I think part of it is coming back to art, but I've also been really trying to more positive and I do believe it's working, even if it's just a small amount. I certainly feel better about things.
